We had to call the cops 4 times.

The apartment itself was fine. There was something of a bug problem in the cabinets, so we had to store all our flour, sugar, etc in the freezer, but otherwise there wasn't too much to complain about. Well, okay, the master bath toilet had to be fixed like 4 times because they used shoddy innards, but whatever.

EDIT: And just why did they remove the apartment security devices when a girl was murdered there several years ago'

What sucked was the neighbors and that's the only reason we left. The neighbor girls frequently had fights with their boyfriends that carried out into the parkinglot with screaming and hitting. Someone threw something big and electronic down the stairs in one of these fights. We had to call the cops TWICE just for the domestic violence going on next door (to which our neighbors responded by calling us names loudly while walking up the stairs to their apartment across from us - passive aggressive much'). Sorry, but we legit thought someone was gonna get stabbed. The third time we called the cops was because someone from that apartment got incredibly drunk, wandered out to the parkinglot and started banging on cars, breaking bottles, and then peed on himself. He then drove away on two flat tires. Yes, we called the cops.

The OTHER time we called the cops was when the OLD neighbor in that same apartment was high on SOMETHING, followed my boyfriend out to the parkinglot and attacked him, claiming something about him being the messiah. He also kicked a dent in the bf's truck. He got arrested.

So, yeah, nice apartment, CRAZY NEIGHBORHOOD.

EDIT: I remembered one more thing - there were a TON of people who "walked" their dogs off leash! We had just gotten a dog from the shelter and she was NOT used to a leash and was not housetrained, so we were training her to eliminate outdoors and walk on a leash - like dogs are SUPPOSED to. Twice while we were out there, she was attacked by other dogs while we were walking her on the leash. One of them was a pit bull - WHO THE HELL LETS THEIR PIT BULL OFF LEASH WHEN IT IS PRONE TO ATTACKING OTHER ANIMALS' The owner called to the dog and it returned to him before too much physical damage happened, but our poor not-used-to leashes doggie had already literally crapped herself and was scared half to death. Since that, she was ALWAYS anxious on-leash. It was horrible.

Also, everyone who says that the walkways are full of trash are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. Heck, when we were being SHOWN the apartment before we moved in, the lady from the office literally walked right over a full-size pizza box in one of the walkways and didn't even flinch. I remember thinking, huh, that's weird. It's like they didn't even notice it.
