Great Spacious Apartment, Awful Neighborhood
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 1/4/2004
Years at this apartment: 1994 - 2002
We moved to Fairway back in 1994 and at that time it was a very nice place to live.
Even though the apartments were older, the management made every effort to keep the property looking good. The kitchens had been remodeled right before we moved in. The apartments had very large bedrooms and the pantry in the kitchen was a great addition. The only negative was there was no coat closet.
Standards were set high when we moved in and all applicants were looked at carefully, including a credit history check. Unfortunately as the rental market got tighter in the late 90's, standards were rapidly lowered. Crime became a major issue on the property with the police regularly making visits. There were also quite a few visits from probation/parole officers. I started saying that I could either watch COPS on TV or just look out my window.
Due to the changes in the neighborhood,we moved after living there over eight years. We have not regreted our decision.
