You know, this place used to be a nice, quiet community with families walking their dogs in the evenings. A while ago I would have recommended it, but not really anymore.
What to name first.
We'll start with the parking, as everyone else seems to have done.
If you work anywhere where you're not guaranteed to be out by 6:00 pm, then you will not park near your own building. You may not even be able to park near any neighboring buildings.
School-aged children run wild and unsupervised in the parking lot. There are dings in the back of the car to prove it. It got so bad that the office sent out letters to poeples apartments to "Please supervise your children, as they are causing property damage".
The trash compactor is disgusting, simply because the current residents don't feel that they should, you know, throw their trash in it. So trash lines up on the sidewalk for days because everyone else follows suit, assuming that the compactor is broken. I feel so bad for the maintenance people who have to deal with it.
We had a graffiti incident, where again, a poor maintenance man had to power wash spray paint off of a brick sign.
And I will correct myself in saying that someone was shot here. The body was dumped across the road from the office, and it indeed did not involve any residents. (That actually makes me feel a bit better.)
15 year olds hang out in the stairwells and bounce basketballs and yell various obscenities like there's no problem.
People next door play bass-thumping music at all hours.
People in the parking lot at about 6 in the morning play bass-thumping music, just sitting there.
College kids move in and cause drunk ruckus anywhere from 2-6 in the morning on any given day of the week. They cry and drive around and yell and occasionally lay in front of someones car to prevent some other drunk kid from leaving their parking spot... which by the way is a parking spot the YOU could have HAD right in front of your building, but you got home too late and the college kids had already started their party, so you had to park 50 yards away.
And I pay HOW much for all of this'!
Yeah, that's another problem.The rates just keep sky-rocketing.
And it just so happens that a friend of ours moved in to an apartment of the exact same size and floor plan, and is paying $70 less than we are.
Yep. This place was nice for a while.
But now... guh.
I will say, though... maintenance will fix anything you need and they're pretty quick about it.
And the office staff is pretty personable.
We also never had any bug problems.
