They don't tell you when you come through, or even when you sign your lease, but Gorman Street Village (GSV) is actually 2 seperately owned buildings in one, tiny, community. (If you would even call it that.) The trash gets left out behing the dumpster, there is always something nasty on the ground in the halls (but they do clean the perimeter of the bulding), the walls are cheap, the carpet is cheap, etc.
The parking, if you live in building 1701, is the absolute worst. There are maybe 20 spaces for the 24 apartments and they tow all the time. We cannot park in the spaces next to our own building because "thats where the property line is drawn." They told me to go to Parkwood Village and get a parking sticker from them so I can park next door to my apartment in the complex where I hear gunshots, I see slashed tires regularly, and there are almost always shady people loitering.
I had someone set off the sprinkler outside of my room and it ran all through the night, backed up into the wall, and flooded my bedroom. The emergency staff IGNORED MY CALLS until I got my father to call up there and threaten them, finally they returned them and gave me a huge fan that they never came back for.
For $345, they include electricity and water, but I learned thats not always the greatest.
I hate this place and I would not renew if they paid me to live here for free.
