I have lived in Governor's Point for almost four years now. There have been 2 changes of ownership, and the new staff at the office is horrible. They are extremely snippy and rude about everything. Our apartment did not have the new tile or new carpet put in before we moved. Every weekend, there are people in the parking lot drinking in their car with their music blaring. The police have been called, but have never come. Teenagers walk around all of the time spray painting things as well as dropping firecrackers into recycle bins and cardboard bins. We frequently hear gunshots, fights, cars squealing in and out of the parking lot, etc. When I first moved in, it was a nice place. It has gone steadily downhill since. The power bills are outrageous-more than bills at some of my friend's houses that are considerably larger. The maintenance staff is very nice, however, and they come very quickly to fix problems. I would definitely not recommend this complex to anyone.

I've lived here just over one year, and I have to agree with much that you've said. Just in the past six months or so, it seems that these events have started taking place. NOW is the time for management to address the problems, or it will be too late. I'm already looking at alternatives for when my lease expires.

I agree with both posts above. I have lived here for a little over a year and it has steadily declined. I have personally witnessed more than 1 drug deal in the parking lot and I am constantly forced to hear peoples music (mostly the bass). If I wanted to live in the hood, I would've moved there. Instead, the hood is moving in with me.

Thanks for the info! Sounds like all Northwest Raleigh apartment communities have started to go downhill - primarily and obviously because of "Fair Housing" laws. Fair Housing is not fair to anyone butirresponsible parents with too mnay children they can't control. Oh well. Once very nice Bridgeport is experiencing the same kind of "in the hood" behavior and incidents. Single people with no kids/teenagers and parents with good kids can't seem to get a nice affordable place to live these days because of these ridiculous laws that let parents and unruly children move in anywhere and continue their unacceptable behavior. Three tenants have left over the last few months because of just two unacceptable families and their teeangeers completely unacceptable behavior (in my building). I'm at Bridgeport now and was thinking of moving to Governors Point because of it. Thank you so much for letting me know the same thing is going on at Governors Point! I'll just stay at Bridgeport but move to another building. The utility bills here at Bridgeport are wonderfully low, the maintenance staff is fantastic, the grounds are beautiful (except when the teenagers - and adults litter)and the office staff is very nice considering what they have to put up with lately from the bad tenants and from the good tenants complaining about the bad ones. Or I'll move completely out of Northwest Raleigh. Thanks again. And thanks to this website for providing this kind of forum!
