Character and charm fill this old building.

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I lived in Grosvenor Gardens from September 2003 until August 2004, and had a great time. When I moved in, they were under control of the Brown Realty Company. The lady in the office wasn't the most welcoming, but she got things done quickly. Before I left they switched over to VG Murray. I had some not so pleasant interactions with them, due to discrepancies between their rental contract and the Brown rental contract, but they eventually honored my original lease, so I can't really say anything bad about them.
The location was great. I was able to walk to all of my classes at State, and anywhere around Glenwood south. Cameron Village was also not too far away.
The only real downside I know about these apartments is their age. While i lived there, some old pipes decided to burst and cause a few expensive problems, which they fixed very slowly. Also, the floors are beautiful oak hardwoods, which are easy to scratch and potentially expensive to fix.
Overall, I'd suggest these apartments for anyone looking to live alone for an okay price in Raleigh.
