Hartford Hills

The model apartment is very lovely, but be warned your apartment will look nothing like it. The cabinets (kitchen and bathroom) look like slabs of cardboard over wood. Some of them are warped and dont even stay closed, and most of them are peeling. The cabinets under the bathroom sink are like bowls from leaking pipes, and you cant put anything in them. Management couldnt care less about this. Also, the floors are those cheap tile squares that arent even installed properly so they have bare floor spaces between them. Very attractive. I supposedly had new carpet when I moved in. If it had been any cheaper, it would have been bare floor. The air conditioning never worked right - it would be hot in the living room and freezing in the bedroom ALL SUMMER LONG. The walls are that cheap sprayed on "popcorn" paint but still have many cracks and chips. New management took over in late 2002 or early 2003 (now Autumn Ridge Apartments) and although they have thrown out money hand over fist to fix up the grounds, the apartments are still crap. It looks good driving in, but dont be fooled. And that's true what the other person said about the water. Let me add that if you live on the 3rd floor, it takes about 10 minutes of running the water to get hot water up there.
