Kensington Park is the absolute WORST place to live. First of all there was a perpetual roach problem. For all the exterminations they had you would think the roach problem would at LEAST be combatted, especially since we had to go through the hassel of removing everything out of the cabinets for the exterminators to exterminate...and to the person who says its beacuse we were filthy that is absolutely WRONG. I don't know what those exterminators were spraying..my guess is water, because those bugs would NOT die, even after I used bug spray to reinforce what the exterminators were trying to do. Once, a bug got into my laundry, and into my pants and was crawling on me when I put my pants on....it was pretty bad.

Also, the parking was ridiculous. You only get one pass to park your car, and one visitors pass and the visitor's pass could only be used in the visitor's parking lot which was a good hike from my building. And heaven forbid you don't have your parking pass displayed, you will be towed by those Ace Towing bastards and have to pay 100 dollars to get your car back (talk about extortion).

Security is non existent. I got my car broken into twice within less than a two month period, and the second time, my stereo got stolen. One of my neighbors got their windows smashed when someone broke into her car, and my car was also damaged by someone breaking into it.

The apartments have little privacy. Maintanance can come and go as they please because there is no chain or dead bolt lock on the door to keep them out. Imagine coming out of the shower butt naked to find that a maintenance man has let himself into your apartment. Once, I came home from work to find that not only had maintenance been in my apartment unannounced, they also left my door unlocked and cracked open. Not very safe for a woman living alone.

I don't know much about the office staff, except I think its quite ridiculous that there is a clause in the lease that says if u disrespect an staff member you can be evicted...that is so outrageously stupid.

Oh yeah and the noise levels are high. I lived downstairs I swear I could hear every step anyone took in that apartment. Once, they threw a party and I was sick. My head was hurting so much from the noise I contemplated leaving to get some peace and quiet.

I recommend not staying at Kensington Park, there are MUCH cheaper places in North Raleigh, that are in nicer areas, and have nicer amenities, with no bugs. If you are hell bent on staying there, here is some friendly advice, DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE WITHOUT SEEING THE APARTMENT NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY!!! and be sure to hire your own exterminator, and if your car is nice, do not park it there, because it will be broken into, and if you have a lot of friends go visit them because they wont be able to visit u at the same time without getting their car towed....its really not worth the money spent I stay somewhere much nicer for $50 less.
