Used to love it here...

I moved into LJM several years ago. At first I really liked it. It is an older apartment complex but it had charm. It didn't have all the features that other places around here had..screened in porches, security systems, or a gym to name a few, but I could deal with this as I loved the idea of being so close to Lake Johnson.
Then came the renovations that have now been going on for over a year. I tolerated it for the past year because I thought that when it was over I'd have a new apartment and it would be worth it. I'm beginning to think differently now. For all the hassle that I've gone through (constant notices that my apartment has to be inspected...at least 1 every 2 weeks) very little has been done to my place. I have new windows and a new AC unit. They took off the old controller for the AC and replaced it with a new, smaller one and never filled in the holes or repainted that wall so it looks like crap btw. At some point they are supposed to come in and redo my kitchen and bath. I noticed that they are giving ppl the option of staying in their cruddy apartment or moving into a renovated one for higher rent. I think that if I'm going to move my stuff, I'll be moving to an apartment that doesn't have construction going on.
On the landscaping front the gardeners have been cultivating several large patches of poison ivy throughout the property. It climbs up trees and is all around, so beware if you don't want to be all itchy.
I've been lucky I guess as I've had quiet neighbors. However, any complaints about things to management are met with the standard response of being patient while they renovate. Personally, my patience as run out and I'll be moving on.
