I lived in Lake Johnson Mews for two years. Overall I feel that LJM is a great place to live. All the appliances are fairly new with a great layout in the kitchen. The look through from the kitchen into the living room in the one bedroom is great for watching TV while washing dishes. One of the best things about the apartment is the HUGE bedroom closet!!! I have not found another apartment with one as big. Also living by Lake Johnson is huge benefit for those that like to run/bike/walk around a beautiful 3mile path. Also the building must be built well because I NEVER heard any of my neighbors.

The downsides to LJM are that there is no workout room, the balconies are directly connected to your neighbors, and the Management pretty much sucks!!!! Most of my problems with the management came when I asked for something to be done in my apartment like replace the air filter. I would call in the morning, leave for work, and call the office after work to make sure it had been replaced. Several times they told me it had been replaced when I could clearly see that the filter was still filthy. Also they will NEVER give you a straight yes or no answer when you ask if something can be done. For example, I asked for a carpet cleaning or replacement as an incentive to renew my lease. It took me two months to get a definite answer. They kept either ignoring me or telling me they would get back to me. The answer ended up being no, but they would have saved me and them a lot of time if they would just give straight answers. Many of my other neighbors have similar stories about the management.

Also high speed internet is provided with your rent and I had a lot of trouble with it going in and out for the first year I was there, but this past year it has been pretty much reliable.

So overall, LJM is a great apartment complex if you don t have to deal with the management very often. It is definitely one of the nicest apartment complex s with only three mile straight shot drive to NC State.

Well, I've lived at LJ Mews for a few years too. I can tell you that the apartments are not well built, in terms of noise reduction, because I hear my neighbors ALL THE TIME. So, you must have either gotten really lucky with the people that lived around you or you can't hear very well. But, I also agree that the management here really leaves something to be desired. If you need something done, don't expect it to be done in a timely manner. Oh, and not all the apartments are new, some of them are kind of old and not that attractive.
