You Can Do Better

A friend of mine is a Raleigh native. His family says this neighborhood "used to be nice, but went downhill." I would agree with that, and I'd love to know what the property owners near us think of this place and the neighboring complex.
When I moved here I was put through a strict screening and application process. I was fine with this as I naively thought it meant the complex would be free of problem tenants. WRONG. I've encountered loud bass from other apartments and cars, I've been ogled and yelled at while trying to take walks, and I've seen cars cruising around the neighborhood...the same cars, always stopping at the same places for thirty seconds and then leaving...hmm, wonder what they're doing' I also do not feel safe outside at night.
The management seems to be trying to turn things around but it may be too little, too late. Maintenance does a good job and they aer very prompt, and I commend them for trying to work with these old apartments. The pond here is full of trash and I see that sort of carelessness as a reflection of some of the people who live here.
Overall, the apartments are roomy and conveniently located, but if I could go back in time I'd live someplace else. There are better options in the Triangle where you will have better neighbors (and I mean that in terms of behavior, not race).
