Moving out

I have only lived here a few months but I am desperatly looking to move out. The first day I lived there I had over 5 work orders for major maintenance that needed to be performed (no air conditioning, lock to the OUTSIDE washer/dryer room was broken, stove was broken, carpet was missing a patch in two rooms, and one electrical outlet that did not work and still hasn't been fixed 8 months later since it would require hiring an electrician).

It is true that you do not have problems with noise from neighbors to your sides since the apartments do not share walls, however the floors/ceilings are paper thin so if you are in a 1st floor you will hear your neighbor no matter how small they are.

The buildings were built in the 70s from what some of my coworkers have told me so they are showing their age (cracks in the walls, doors do not fit in doorframes, etc).

The majority of the people that live here are low-income families or immigrants (over 75% of the people that live near my apartment are hispanic) and there are several problems with there being more than one family living in an apartment. This causes people to park along the curbs of the road since there aren't enough parking spaces for there to be more than 2 cars per apartment and I know of at least one apartment with 6 cars (the resident came out and told me to move my car out of his corner of the parking lot because that was his daughter's parking space on my first day). The management will not do anything about it since there are no specific rules against having that many vehicles and they already have problems with filling vacant units.

I strongly suggest that you do not move into these apartments and continue to look elsewhere. If anything the notices posted around my building about the Raleigh Police Department forming a robbery task force in the apartment complex is enough to convince me to move out.

I urge you to contact the Better Business Bureau and inform them of the problems you've been having. Then once that is done contact the city ?housing? manager and inform him of the problems and then they will urge you to get a lawyer(there's a free one offered by the county who specializes in these kind of cases). I lived in Landmark for one year and during the summer my A/C rarely worked and my electric bill was outrageous. Get out of there quick because they are bastards who don't care about you and they will lie to you even when you have proof to prove they are lying.

give me a break!! I have lived at Landmark for nearly two years now and have found the staff to be very friendly and knowledgable. The maintenance
staff is very friendly and are here to fix any problems soon after I call them in. The property is beautiful and the location is great! I would recomend this place to anyone.

The staff is friendly, but there are no displays of common courtesy from the non-English speaking "residents". Loud, drunken parking lot parties in warm weather, etc. I had to call the police on a senor and senorita detailing their SUV with loud thumping music under my balcony - again. Lurkers around the mailboxes are a concern especially since a report of an armed robbery in the Summmer of 07 (an RPD officer came knocking on my door and informed me since I lived close to the scene).

My husband was home one day from work and there were two men walking around to the apartments banging on doors and saying they were maintenance, but he didn't recognize them and they looked like they were from a construction site so he didn't answer the door. Later on, he let our dog out in broad daylight in the back yard near a large road where he had a knife pulled on him by the same two men knocking on the door. Everything turned out alright; he was able to defend himself... But it could have been anyone. This place is more of a hazard to live than anything. Do not move to this place.
