Raleigh's Best Value

I relocated to Raleigh in October 2007 from out of state and had a 3 month lease with Lantern Square. The location was most ideal, great restaurants @ North Hills, only 1.5 miles to Shelley Lake's trails (and 1/4 mile to the greenway down the street on Lassiter Mill Rd), just a couple hundred feet from the beltline (never heard any traffic), and for me - just 2 miles from my office. This was my first experience living in North Carolina and it was a very positive one. Brea and Vonya were extremely helpful and always available - even though I never needed anything besides to drop off my monthly rent check. I had a 2BR ground level garden apartment - it was very clean, appliances were updated. Having the lower unit I thought I would have heavy-footed neighbors above, but hardly ever heard any noise. The only noise that was a nuisance was when the upstairs neighbors stomped up and down the stairs which were against our living room wall. When I first moved in the common hallway/stairs area was absolutely filthy with cobwebs, dead large insects of all varieties all over the floor - I placed a request to have it cleaned and it was completed within 24 hours. Lantern Square proved to be extremely accommodating. One thing to keep in mind: note how much notice you have to provide upon vacating. My lease turned into a month-to-month in December, which required 60 days notice...yet my fiance and I found a home and purchased it within 20 days. Lantern Square offers to try and rent your apartment sooner so that you are not responsible for the balance of the rent - and they did that too! The apartment was only vacant for one week and we received our deposit back in full. The laundry facility is not the cleanest place, and there was a time when I returned to the dryer to find someone removed my clothes and left them soaking wet and used my remaining time to dry their own clothes. Overall, it's a very quiet, centrally located apartment community with an all-star staff on hand.
