I've lived here at Laurel Oaks since August of 2005. When I moved my bedroom window had a crack in it. It's may 19th and still no new window. My toilet had a leak around the bottom, took 2 weeks for them to get to. About a week after I moved in my key broke in the lock to my door. So I had no way of locking my door. Like most apartment complexes, Laurel Oaks has 24 hour emergency maintainance. So I called the maintainance guy at the time and he told me he would get to it the following day. That was after he told me that he had just gotten home and was eating. So I went out and bought another lock for my door. Pretty rediculous if you ask me. Around november my fireplace stopped working. Would've been nice to save on some heating bills, they never got around to fixing it. And no it wasn't the flue. About a month ago my $700 dollar mountain bike got stolen right off my patio. My fault for not locking it up, however I never had a problem before with stuff getting stolen. Shame on Laurel Oaks for for allowing low income trash into the community. I live on the ground floor and teenagers are constantly loitering around my apartment. Laurel Oaks doesn't do anything about it. Now I'm not a racist person, but most of the people here are black. And a few are decent people, but the others are a problem. They're teenagers though, makes you wonder where the parents are. So there's my take on Laurel Oaks. From my understanding, not all of Laurel Oaks is like this. So if your desperate and end up moving here, move close to the pool, those are decent units with decent tenants. If not you might find yourself not waiting until your lease is up, like myself for example.

I don't think it should matter if most of the people there are black. That is a very racist statement.

I live by the pool and I'm black... I have never caused an issue and I resent your racist attitude. Laurel Oaks has it's problems I know that, but they have nothing to do with "black people" You said to live by the pool where there are decent tenants - Guess what? Everyone on my floor, plus 2downstairs neighbors are black and there are no noise, equipment or theft issues...you might wanna check the white people buddy...black people don't ride mountain bikes.
