This place is AWFUL!

Full of crime - repeat vandalism and drug activity - just check with the Garner substation next door. In one month they had HUNDREDS - the captain told me himself - of 911 calls regarding drug activity. The maintenance men are total perverts; one of them is a convicted sex offender. There are also several sex offenders living in the neighborhoods - just check online via a Lenoxplace address. Crack heads knock on your door. The gate is constantly broken - this is not a gated community. All of the equipment in the fitness center is broken but they keep it there to give the appearance it's well-equipped when they are showing it to prospective tenants. You have to pay an additional $150 with your last month's rent - they will NOT take it out of your deposit - for painting and recarpeting, though they are required to do so by law. Maintenance is constantly entering your apartment for this -------- and the other and they help themselves to your food and drinks. Vehicles are constantly vandalized. Gang activity is prevalent - there are 'Bloods' and 'Blood-wannabe's' everywhere. The pool is never open - I'm pretty sure they don't use chemicals and I've NEVER seen maintenance cleaning it. There is also no functioning filtering system which keeps the filth floating around in the water. The water is full of hair, bugs, bandaids and the like - the toilets in the pool area are not equipped with toilet paper - I think you have to bring your own. Your deposit is not returned to you for months on end, if at all. WRAL 5 on your side has done a story on the community b/c of the number of complaints - there are 10 (the LAST time I checked) complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and several others filed with the North CArolina Department of Justice. Staff turn-over is ridiculous - you are constantly being told different things from different staff members. Maintenance calls are handled inappropriately, if addressed at all. The grounds are filthy. The breezeways are disgusting and full of trash - management's solution was to buy a bunch of plastic flower pots and place them in the breezeway for cigarette butts. Ghetto. Another rating, posted by management, I'm sure, indicated 'signs of improvement' b/c they are powerwashing the buildings...that has happened twice in the last several years. Traffic on South Saunders and Tryon is TERRIBLE!!!! There is a brand new housing and condo community across the street and pulling out onto Tryon now is a total nightmare. There are noisy children running EVERYWHERE...this is not the place for someone who wants a peaceful lifestyle...the pool is chock-full of unsupervised terrible children all summer long. There is dog ---- everywhere...Lenoxplace does nothing to enforce responsible pet ownership.

I read the reviews prior to renting but I didn't listen - I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I learned a hard lesson. Hope you don't make the same mistake.
