Great Place just Outside the Beltline

Lexington Farms has a lot going for it. It is in a great area. It has easy access to Crabtree Valley Mall, I-40 via Wade Avenue and best of all, if you approach it from Glen Eden, you can barely tell you're crossing over the beltline, so it feels almost like you're still ITB.

The buildings themselves are in good shape. The apartments were built in the late 80's and some aspects of the design (the Southwest-inspired fireplaces and European Trim Cabinetry) seem slightly dated, but they are very well cared for. The layouts of the apartments are interesting with plenty of windows and a good sense of flow. The kitchens are almost like galley kitchens, but they are open on both ends, so you never feel like you're in a lightless cave as you do in some apartments. They also have greenhouse windows over the sinks which are nice for making the place seem more homey. Additionally, the apartments are designed with great areas where you can put your dining table so it doesn't feel like it's part of your living room even though the floorplan is an open one. I never hear sounds from the apartments around me except the noise of water running through the pipes.

The staff are very professional and although a previous review has said that the property manager is rude and condescending, I cannot stress how much my opinion differs. Danita is very friendly, has a great sense of humor and is very attentive to comments, requests or complaints. I think that she and the rest of the staff do a very good job.

The maintenance requests I have submitted have all been promptly attended to and were all handled to my satisfaction. The guys who do the maintenance are also conscientious about what they do.

The landscaping is really good and the pool and clubhouse facilities are really nice as well. The place is well-lit and I feel extremely safe here. The closest supermarket and drugstore are both less than a mile away and are open 24 hours, plus there are a lot of restaurants in the area that are minutes away.

It's not the fanciest place around, but it has character and it is extremely affordable for the benefits it offers. Lexington Farms is a great place.
