Good location, older buildings, badly maintained.

This community is in a great location! Alot of the apartments have big windows and washer/dryers included.
Problems include: old appliances; terrible old cabinets in bathrooms and kitchens; they have painted over wallpaper; useless hazardous "fireplaces"; damaged bath tiles with recurrent mold due to no bathroom ventilation; the "jacuzzis" sound like lawn mowers; noises from neighbors are a constant problem; maintenance is only done through a 1-800 foreign call center; the management office doesn't answer the phone; the lawn isn't maintained and trees aren't trimmed over walkways; the windows don't seal; constant roaches, spiders, and other insects; old and noisy a/c systems.
I can't say that I hated living there (there are worse places) but clearly there are problems that need to be identified. You would have trouble arguing against the obvious (Noise is a serious problem. Shoddy materials and workmanship. Poor landscaping and upkeep.). It would be a great place to live if the managers and/or owners cared but they seem to find it easier to just push you into a lease and they lie to get your signatures. Good luck getting a straight story anyhow.

Lived here?

I have lived at this complex for several years and have found that just about all of the "problems" listed above are absolutely bogus. This is one of the quietest complexes that I have ever lived in and any problems with neighbors that violate the city noise codes are dealt with by the office and police. The grounds are kept meticulously and if there is something that needs trimming a simple call to the office takes care of it. The office staff is friendly and willing to do just about anything within their power to make living here pleasant. Since I have lived here, I have had a brand new washer and dryer, as well as a new dish washer. My oven is almost brand new and baking temps are perfect, unlike some other rental properties I have had. I know my neighbors and we all keep a "community watch" type look-out after each other. Yes, the buildings are old, but well maintained, painted, fresh carpet, etc. I would love to know "the lies" the person is referring to, as that is illegal. Sounds like sour grapes to me. I would recommend anyone move here that is looking for a small select apartment community. Besides, look at the dates the review was written!

I live there now, and can attest that the problems described above are pretty much still true. Except, my appliances are fairly new, so they must have been replacing them. The buildings are older, they creak and there's bugs galore. The cabinets are goofy. I haven't had too much trouble with maintenance, it's like calling Dell or HP- alot of people don't like that, but I really don't think it's a problem. My only real complaint is that the rent is basically at the "arm-and-a-leg" level considering what's out there, but you could probably get a discount these days.

money says the post was from someone who had a hard time on rent and the office is the best way to take it out. Do you yell at the bank when they don't pay your bills as well. get over yourself.

I live here now and several others around me have moved out because of managements unresponsiveness to mold, bugs, maintenance repairs, and upkeep issues. My kitchen appliances are very old and the cupboards are falling apart. The fireplaces do seem like a definite hazard and concern me also. Mine says " WARNING WHEN USED WITHOUT FRESH AIR HEATER MAY GIVE OFF CARBON MONOXIDE, A POISONOUS GAS. OPEN WINDOW AN INCH OR TWO FOR FRESH AIR WHEN USING HEATER!" The fireplace/heaater is connected to a gas line. I personally would be afraid to use the thing.

Well, thanks to management for posting false reviews congratulating themselves. I'm the original reviewer, following up a year later, and I'd just like to say that my comments in the review above are not "absolutely bogus", and my rent was always paid early. Furthermore, it is not "illegal" to review an experience with an apartment - it was a bad experience, and that's that. Let me explain further: I had major problems with noise and bugs, and these were due to thin walls and poor construction. My part of the grounds were never kept up, and the weeds out my LR window would grow knee high until I finally got fed up enough to call and tell them 'please, mow the lawn'. This happened at least twice in only one summer - I'm not one to complain, so it was unkempt almost all of the time. I never used the jacuzzi once I heard the huge noise it made. I did use the gas FP once or twice, but I agree that thing was dishy. Who wants to open a window when they use a fireplace? When I applied to live there, the leasing agent Betsy made several promises that she tried to renege on. She promised that a new range would be installed before I moved in, and it wasn't. I had to call a few times and write a letter to get it, and they finally came to do the installation, after I'd moved in (hassle!). She promised free rent, and then had a lease ready for signature without that included. I called her on it, and she said 'just sign it' (without the free rent), and I had to say no! She then printed the lease concession (it took two seconds), but only after I'd insisted.
I don't need to carry on with more. Every neighbor I met wanted out and they moved out in disgust. The ones who moved in left bud light cans on the lawn, and someone hit my car in the parking lot and took off. THAT'S THE TRUTH - You couldn't pay me to live there again.
