Unique but...

I rented a 1 bedroom with a loft for a year; I thought it was an amazing and unique layout with lots of windows and light.
Now the downside to renting here:
1. Huge flying Cockroaches galore!!!! An exterminator will always come by in a timely manner, but the pests never seem seem to go away. My sole reason for leaving was so I didn't have to wake up to seeing huge Cockroaches chilling on the banister or scrambling under the stove.
2. Interior walls are paper thin. I could constantly hear my neighbors crying baby, hear the shows they were watching on TV, hear the sex, and hear them playing Jimi Hendrix and 'Party Like a Rockstar' on there stereo. Now I'm scared to imagine what they heard coming from my apartment!
3. Very outdated casework and cabinetry in the kitchen and bathrooms. Talk about a blast back to the 70's!
I may recommend this place to a college student more concerned with price than quality...but no one else.

Lived here?

I lived here myself. Mold is a major problem. Maintenance crew's solution is just paint right over it. Roaches, spiders, and centipedes need to become your friends if you live here. Management does not have these apts. systematicly sprayed for critters. So unless you request the exterminator you won't receive this service and if your neighbors don't request it your building won't be free of the bugs and that IS the catch. Also, maintenance makes repeated trips to fix the same problem and seldom successfully. Leaky toilets, sinks, and waterstained ceilings go unresolved. The noise level is terrible and this noise is just from the thin walls. Also, I suggest yhou ask how many dogs are living in your building as it can sound like you're living in a kennel at times.

Well guess what "raleighwood" I have relocated to Brier Creek since moving out of that hell hole and NO BUG PROBLEMS AT ALL! - Let alone giant flying roaches! So that "welcome to the south" comment is bullsh*t and I don't buy it. There are plenty of places to live down here without having to deal with pests!

Actually its not BS, as you say. I am sure your community has bugs as well. They all have them. You just might have cleaner neighbors. Your educated guess on places without bugs should go further than personal experience, especially if you make such derogative comments as your comeback. Give it some time, before your little creapi crawlers come back. haha, they are just hiding from you.
