I Would Advise Against Living Here

wow, where do i begin. i was a transplant to raleigh and had to find an apartment quick. i met with the staff at mariners, they showed me a layout, looked nice, tourned the facility, nice..... sure, i'll take it.
oops
moved in, well first i was told my apartment would have a fireplace.... it did not. second, it appeared as if a bulldozer had gone over my carpet, flat as can be. oh ya, dead cockroach in the corner, sweet.
as the weeks went by i noticed a lot of turnover in the complex, seemed like every weekend there was a moving van, not to mention about 500 cars for 300 parking spots. i actually avoided leaving my apartment after 6pm because i would NOT have a close spot upon my return.
so i weathered the storm for my 12 months and got out, however here is where the fun began. i moved out and was told i would get my deposit back in 30-45 days. so 30 days pass. i call the office and ask where my deposit was, the response:
"we don't have on record you putting down a security deposit"
hmm... funny, then where did the $100 go from my account' so i go to my bank, PAY MY OWN MONEY to get copies of old checks, and have to prove to the "staff" (notice the quotes) that i did pay a deposit. guess what, not their problem! so they call big brother in texas and tell them i need a deposit.
i wait some more
30 days after that, a check finally comes, wow, that was easy
all in all its an apartment not fit for north raleigh. the staff was nowhere near professional enough, and their knowledge of the operation was comical. i would not recommend this apartment complex unless they drastically reduced their rent price (sub $500 / month for 1 bedroom) or rehauled the staff and cleaned up the grounds.
