Nice Place to Live

I've lived here several months now, & I am overall satisfied with living at Mayfaire. I live in a 2 bed/2 bath model, & it's roomy, airy & lets in a good amount of light (but not too much). I'm on the top (3rd) floor & the living room has a cathedral ceiling, which amplifies the space nicely. I feel safe in the neighborhood (residential area, sidewalks to jog or walk), & the complex is within walking distance to stores. I've always found the manager, leasing staff & maintenance crew to be very friendly, professional & helpful. Maintenance requests are done in a timely manner & have been done right the first time. Plus, the crew are really nice guys. The grounds are nice & well-kept & plenty of outdoor lighting. I've had no problems w/ neighbors. Maybe mine are just very quiet, but I rarely hear them. Obviously, I can hear something like a vacuum running, but I have to say even that noise is faint. It's an apartment, after all, you aren't going to get silence 24/7! Good closet space & storage in kitchen. I also like the built-in shelving in the living room. There's room for a television, DVD player, etc. Big plus, however, is that there's a sprinkler system in the apartment. All too rare! Every room has at least one, including the utility room & even the closets. The place seems well-insulated too. Now, onto a couple of minuses. The vinyl flooring gets scuffed too easily for my taste. The vinyl they use a little too thin. The pool area can get noisy in summer, but staff tries to keep a rein on it. Fortunately, I don't live by the pool. My main minus is the stone column by the entry/exit. It juts out a little too far, IMO, and is in your field of vision when you're trying to exit the complex. I've never been hit, or even almost hit, but I have to be extra careful pulling out onto Lead Mine Rd. Overall, I do enjoy living here & feel at home. I really like the apartment, the neighborhood, the staff & the convenience to shopping. I'd recommend this place to a friend. UPDATE 8.28.09 - Apartment management has removed the stone column at the entrance that was obstructing the view of Lead Mine Rd. The way is completely clear now, & that's great news. I'm happy to know management listened to the concerns of the residents. Thank you!

They have since removed the stone column at the front of the property, so you no longer have any problems seeing traffic. I was really glad to see how the office took care of the situation when I talked to them about the column. They actually did something, which is another reason why I love living here!

Hi Lilly85, I have been in & out of town lately, & I just noticed that this week! This is great news, & I'm glad Natalie & her crew listened to the residents. I agree that is one of the great things about living here. I'm going to update my original review. Thanks for the comment.
