When you think of the word Melrose, you are apt to think of bliss. Well not at Melrose Apartments, in Raleigh NC. Melrose has its ups and then again, it has its downs. When I first moved int to melrose, the management was terrible! I was moved into an apartment that someone already lived in!! (down) Shortly after that, Melrose announced that they would be under new management.(up) With the new management, new community assistants were hired.(I was one of them) The new management, in my opinion, is not qualified to handle thier positions. I am actually in management position, so I am fully aware of the requirements. In my opinion, the staff has the education and experience, however lacks customer service skills. The Manager has 21 years of experience, and no personal skills. Her son frequently comes to Melrose and causes a scene. This woman can't even control her son, but yet is in charge of hundreds of residents. I can remember several times that she has allowed her attitude to run wild! She has yelled at her son, employees, and yes, residents! She is a control freak, and tends to throw around her title. She continues to blame the mishaps of occupancy on the employees and make melrose a dreadful place to work and live. She needs to be re-evaluated as a manager. The assistant adminstrator of administration doesn't know what he's doing! When you go to fill out your application, you'll contact him to find out your approval status before he contacts you! Expect to play phone tag for at least three weeks. I had to answer numerous customer complaints because of his carelessness. The controller, Kevin, is pretty cool. He is smart and has a lot of knowledge. Residence life, is nothing here. The Director is cool at times. She has a great education, and a bright future ahead of her. Maintenance is great here, Kenny-Laurie-and Jaye, do a great job answering work-orders in a timely fashion. The facilities need to be updated badly. The Security booth allows anyone to get in. In all, Melrose is the place to be if you want to be treated lower class. Upon my job termination, I will be moving to village green.
