I've lived in the Tapers for about 7 years now. I have seen a lot of other residents come and go in the time that I have been here. Some neighbors I have had problems with, others I haven't, so it all just depends on how courteous people are of their neighbors.
Overall, though, I love my apartment very much, and the screened in deck rocks for my kitties. My apartment is on the edge of the complex, so the view out my back windows an deck is all nature. The apartment itself is very nice and spacious, but the walls between apartments could use a bit more soundproofing-- my current neighbors to my right aren't very courteous and are rather loud. Maintenance is always right on top of any service request I make, and I really appreciate that. The staff here is very friendly.
I only wish my rent wouldn't keep going up every time I sign a lease. I got in on a good deal at $425/month, but after signing about 4 new leases I'm up up to $565. Soon I won't be able to afford to live here anymore. It baffles me how rent goes up every time I renew when the apartments are just getting older and, yes unfortunately, a bit more ghettoish as the years pass.
I certainly hope that when I do move out I don't experience the problems these other people have had upon move-out inspections.

I know what you mean about the rent increase each time the lease is renewed. I have lived in The Tapers since 2003 and I'm renting a townhouse. My rent has increased so much that I'm seriously considering moving out into a cheaper place when my lease is up this time.

I sustain Am's opinion ,I know how painfull could be to see the rent increasing, but it seems you guys there in America must learn how to deal with renting contracts, this become a legal problem , ask a lawyer to check out the terms of contracts was signed there before to move.I don't think this is legal, to increase the rent whenever they want.
