Ohh.. what can I say about Montecito' Nothing good really..
I had to move to Raleigh within two weeks of being hired at a job in North Raleigh.. so since I didn't have much time to apartment hunt.. I looked at a few places in N. Ral. and I came across Montecito.. and if I had known what I know now, I would like to go back in time and slap myself, then yank myself away to look at another apartment.
At first, I thought.. these apartments are kinda cute, with their circular architecture, and huge balconies.. but then I moved in, and well it was all downhill from there. The leasing office agents are snotty. If you have a problem with maintenance with the apartment, they act like it's always your fault. I didn't drill holes in my walls from the inside out to let all those cockroaches in my apt. Oh, the ceiling is leaking.. that must mean I went onto the roof and caused it to do so right' So, no, it wasn't my fault. However, when maintenance would come out.. they always did a pretty decent job. There was one guy that even used to bring treats for my dog.
Also, I'm an equal opportunity kinda girl.. but dear God.. the apt. that I was renting was a 1bd..so were the ones around me.. but seems like certain people like to crowd 6 adults or so into one house. Those said people.. also like to play music REALLY REALLY loud while working on their cars.. or while just doing nothing. I think I woke up at 7am each Saturday to Julio Iglesias crooning loudly under my window. I was not happy. Bringing this the attention of the office was pretty much worthless.. because for the year that I was there.. nothing changed. Oh, and then the notes on my door about the robberies, and the cars being broken into.. that makes you feel good. There also weren't any washers and dryers in the units.. but they had a laundry center.. which the washers worked great.. it was the dryers that sucked. If you were going to do a load or two of laundry, better be prepared to set aside a good portion of your day.
The gym was ok, if you weren't scared to go in there by yourself.. and the pool, I went there once, and it was over ridden with children, and that's not my thing, but I guess that was ok. There is plenty of parking, but a lot of the times there were sketchy characters in the parking lot.. I'd call my boyfriend to come out if it was late.
All in all, I paid 550 for rent there, and looking back, I had friends that paid less or equal that and had way nicer apts. at other places. I really see no good reason to move into Montecito.

Hmmmm its says 2005-2006 for years at this apt. Wow it took 1 year to complain. That is odd. I live here now and I like it fine. There is crime everywhere you can not avoid it unfortunately. As for children, I have a little girl and I do see other kids in the neighborhood. They all seem pretty well behaved to me. They don't go around tearing the place up. Anyway I just had to say a good word for my home after that awful review.
