I have really good memories of Montecito. Yes, there were a few bugs, but as soon as I let management know, they sent someone right over to treat the place and that took care of the problem. The apartments are a little older, but they are roomy. When I moved in, everything was very clean. The office staff and maintenance people were great to work with. I needed a wheel chair accessible apartment. The staff worked with me to widen the bathroom door, installed a ramp and added a grab bar to my shower, all at a very reasonable price and the workmanship was excellent. You could not tell they had to cut the wall and carpet to widen that door. The location is great with Wal-Mart, Costco, grocery stores and fast food places within just a mile or so, and it has really easy access to the beltline. I know there was some crime in the area, but like in any area in a city, you just have to be cautious and pay attention to your surroundings. The apartment staff let us know right away when there had been an incident and reminded us to be careful. I came in and out alone at all hours of the day and night and never had a problem. I would move back to Montecito if I moved back to Raleigh.
