I have been living in Montecito for over four years and would highly recommend it to someone looking for a nice apartment at a reasonable price in a great location.

The office staff is great. They are very friendly and extremely willing to provide assistance. Any time I have had an issue, maintenance has come right out to fix the problem.

It is an older property but the owners spend a lot of money on maintaining it. The recently repainted the buildings and are in the process of redoing the roofs. My apartment is in better condition than many of the newer apartments I have lived in which were built quick and cheap. The great building construction keeps your electric bills down.

It is not fancy. My kitchen and bathrooms are a little smaller than I would like but the other rooms are very good size. I do wish there were washer/dryer connections. I miss the convenience of being able to do my wash at home.

The only bug problem I have ever had is ants. I called and they sent someone right out to spray. They regularly have pest control come by but I have heard there were problems in the past in some buildings.

As for the neighborhood, it is no different than other areas. You have to be careful in a city. There are many stores and restaurants nearby and the beltline is just minutes a way. When there is a crime on the property, residents are notified quickly. There have been no murders or violent offenses that I am aware of in the community. There was a rash of car thefts at one point but that was about it. It really is not a high crime area.
