Pros and Cons

Years at this apartment: 2008-01-01 - 2009-01-01
I lived in Montecito for a year and liked it while I was there.
Management was always helpful and responded pronto to maintenance requests.
Maintenance regularly changes air filters and sprays for bugs.
I never had a problem.
Floorplan was great.
I loved the built in bookcases.
If you move in, check the door handles on the luver doors.
Knobs sometimes come off.
My apartment was clean and bright.
Unfortunately, some neighbors were not considerate and would rev their engines in the parking lot very early in the morning.
I had a neighbor that played the guitar, and I could hear him below me, but it was pretty good music! Be very careful in snow and ice.
They do salt the metal stairs, but they don't salt the sidewalks or parking lots, and the parking lots are sloped.
I felt safe when I lived there for the most part.
Break ins that occurred were mostly common sense issues.
People left their purses sitting on the seats of their cars.
There was one incident I know of in which the police were involved.
They called me to see if I could offer any information, but I could not since I was away when the incident occurred.
You get what you pay for.
After much research, Montecito's rent is the most affordable in this part of Raleigh.
It is an older, but quaint, complex with a diverse mix of residents and a very helpful staff.
You can't expect it to be top of the line for the price, but you can expect great service and consideration.
