I'll start with safety. I go to school at NCSU and often ride my bike. On the way home one day some teenager knocked me off of my bike for laughs. This was right on Crest Rd. There were two robberies less than one mile away last week alone. One on the corner of Avent Ferry and Gorman. One behind Mission Valley Apts. on Centennial campus. In short, I don't feel safe here. If you have a significant other visiting from out of town occasionally do them a favor and go somewhere where they'll feel safer.
My particular building is attached to one of the laundry rooms on site. When the management decided to remodel it (it looks much better now than it did) the fumes coming into my house were unbearable. I complained a few times and on the third complaint I was given a key to one of their show rooms for the weekend. It was so creepy in there that I didn't stay. Instead I was forced to open all of my windows with the heat running constantly. There was a big electricity bill that month. The management refused to aerate the laundry room and the chemical smell persisted for two weeks.
The kitchen cabinets are very poorly installed, I've had to repair leaks from every water source, and I just replaced the toilet flow valve yesterday because it stopped working. To be fair, I didn't ask for help on these repairs so I don't know if they would have been fixed in a timely manner.
Not recommended unless you're a pro-wrestler, bouncer, or a professional body-builder. Go somewhere where you feel safe.
