It's got it's ups and downs.

For one who likes to walk, you can't beat the location, walking distance to North Hills and Crabtree, and on the Greenway trail, creekside.

They are also large and cheap, and all things considered, in a good area.

The management/ownership is pretty atrocious though. I think we've had 4 owners during my stay of 4 years, the latest of which went bankrupt, defaulted on their property tax, meaning for a month or two we were paying our rent to Wake County.

These guys bought the apartment complex in 2005 (I think), fired the staff, put some crazy lady in charge, and started 'renovations' with the hope of converting them to condos. Well, they're 30 years old with dry-rot throughout, you can't simply throw new siding on existing damp and rotting siding and expect people to want to buy it.

So, that has been abandoned, and then the crazy lady in charge started threatening us because we have a grill on our porch (despite the lease clearly stating we could have it). Eventually they stole our grill, I'm guessing they threw it out. We'd pursue legal action but 1) we have no proof that they did it and 2) it was really kind of a worthless grill.

As mentioned in other reviews, the pool has been closed for ages and the tennis courts overgrown.

Maintenance, while responsive, doesn't seem to ever actually fix the problems. We had to have them out several times for the air conditioning, and we've had them here 3 times over the past 4 months because our dishwasher doesn't clean.

Really, aging buildings and poor management are a trade off for cheap rent. The place seems safe enough I suppose.
