God Awful

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
I moved to St. Regis two years ago from another Cornerstone property. For the first year or so, everything was wonderful...just like the way it was at the previous property. Then, after MANY changes in management we finally got got someone about a year ago that seems to be here for a while.
When I first viewed these apartments I was shown a "model" apartment since no vacant apartments were available to be viewed. The model had very nice cabinets installed over the washer & dryer in the laundry room and new appliances in the kitchen. Well, after I packed up and moved here from out of state I found out on my move-in day that the appliances I got were from when the apartment was first built (circa 1986 olive green instead of the white appliances in the model) and there were no cabinets in the laundry room...only a tacky board with a "dip" in the middle.
This was pretty irritating and I complained immediately. I was told they would replace everything, but shortly after that EVERYONE in the office left (& then changed every 2 or 3 months after that) and here it is, 2 years later & I still have my green appliances and my board.
Living here hasn?t been too bad until the last year. I LOVE the location and the apartment is pretty nice (even though I have a wonderful view of I-40 & I get to listen to the traffic when I turn the TV or radio off). Parking has been a hassle from day one as well. Come home after 7 or 8pm and you have to park 2 or 3 buildings away.
In the past year the number of vacancies has gone up enormously. Some buildings with 12 apartments have 4-5 empty apartments. I think in an effort to fill up vacancies the staff has stooped to letting just about anyone move in. I feel like I live in a crack den at times. With the neighbors playing rap music in their cars loud enough to be heard three blocks away and the pit bulls running loose (off lease), it really is hard to tell.
Bugs & mice have been a problem, especially for the past year. I?ve killed numerous mice in my apartment and I have one neighbor that caught 22 (TWENTY TWO) in a weekend. There are always water bugs (which look like enormous ---- roaches to me) in my apartment. I complain and they do nothing. In the two years I?ve been here they have NEVER (that I?m aware of) done any preventative extermination to avoid bugs. The other Cornerstone community I lived at sprayed for bugs monthly...whether we needed it or not. I lived there three years and never saw so much as an ant in my apartment.
My lease is up in a few months and I will DEFINATELY be moving. Do yourself a favor and stay away. This place is going downhill fast.
