AWFUL!!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
At first glance these apartments seem great. After a look at the model and a walk aroung the grounds We were ready to sign. After the paper work we were asked where we would like to move in. WE HAD A CHOICE! This can not be good. But we decided to move in close to the pool.
Once we got a chance to look at our apartment we beagn to see some problems. Only two of the doors in the whole place accually closed the whole way. The front door and the closet door in the hall. Not even the storage door closed. I eventually fixed this problem myself after waiting a few monthes for them to fix it. Also at a closer look and flipping all the switches several times we realized that the only lights that were ceiling lights were in the hall, kitchen, master closet, and the bathrooms. All the other rooms must have a lamp that can be controled from the switch. This fact had not been seen at the model nor was it pointed out. Since we lived on the bottom floor the living room was not a comfortable room to spend most of you time. In the summer it was very hot and in the winter you would freeze. This is mostly because of the amount of windows that did not shut to keep the leaks out (wind and water) and it was poorly insulated. Another room that had problems was the kitchen. Because is was so small it got very hot when cooking. The washroom is off the kitchen in a corner and if the dryer is running while you are cooking you could pass out from the heat. These are things that are not in the front of ones minds when looking at a model.
As for the management, at first they were great. My questions were answered and a few things got fixed, then the management changed twice and the end result was worse than the original. They could never be reached and the maintenance went down hill.
Examples follow----
The pool was always ful of kids when the weather permitted. And when I say kids I mean kids The oldest maybe fourteen and the youngest might be four. No adults were present to supervise these kids. I took my concern to the office and was told something like this: "We can not keep a constant eye on the pool because we do not have the staff for it." OK. there is a sign that states that there is no life guard on duty. But there is also the rule that states that no one under a certain age be permitted in the pool area without adult supervision. Now correct me if I am wrong, but is it not the managements responsiblity to make sure that the rules are followed by checking on the pool throughout the day' The office managers can see the pool from their offices which are in the club house not ten feet from the pool.
Noise is another issue. We were lucky to move in to an apartment that had quiet neighbors above. Then they moved and new neighbors moved in. We could hear them day and night!! We could hear them walk, talk, argue, vacuum (at five in the morning), and numerous other things that neighbors should not hear. I complained at least twice and they were still as loud the day we moved out.
Parking is a nightmare!! After 7 pm forget it. Plan to walk at LEAST 3 hundred feet to your door. The spaces are not marked and there is not enough for the number of apartments. And our building was not full!!
Please reconsider these apartments if you are even considering them!! I was very displeased with my stay there and I know you will too.
