I miss living at Remington Place

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I lived here as a graduate student at NCSU looking for a place close to campus but without the noise and mess of undergrad living. Remington Place was perfect for that. I initially lived in the smaller 1BR but eventually moved into the larger 2BR with the boyfriend. The apartments were just huge! It was a really great deal for the price. It had washer/dryer hookups, a cute little patio, built-in bookcases, a sunroom, and welcomed pets. The tennis court and exercise room have seen much better days but, having access to NCSU's facilities, never used them.
I always felt safe there. Parking was fine for the majority of the time. If you came back too late at night you might not get a spot right in front of your place but it wouldn't be far to walk at all.
The staff is totally friendly and the grounds were nice. It was great to have the Lake Johnson trails right there that I could use for walks with the dog or just relaxing. All those trees around the place made it feel separated from "city life" and gave it some quiet even though it was just a few seconds away from 440, Avent Ferry, and Tryon. The pool was a nice perk and it was really rare to have to share it with anyone.
The buildings are old but they're not breaking down left and right. Fixtures look a bit outdated but work fine. My biggest issue was with my toilet and the maintenance workers came in a few times to fix the issue. Luckily this was in the 2BR place so I had another bathroom to use.
Overall, I highly recommend it. I visited so many apartments before deciding on Remington Place and I made the right decision.
I now live in San Francisco in a teeny apartment and paying crazy amounts of money. Oh to have a Remington Place here...
