I only lived there for six months (june to december '06) , but I was pretty happy. There were a few things that i didn't like, namely: old appliances (my washer and dryer was broke when i moved in, but they replaced it within a week), the water pressure sucked, i don't think the dishwasher washed the dishes very well either.

However, maybe i just happened to be in a good part of the neighborhood but it always seemed very safe to me, which was way more important than water pressure in my opinion. My neighbors were quiet, no thugish lookin' folks skulking around at night(which was important to me, as i frequently worked until midnight or later)

It's in a pretty good section of raleigh and it is cheap (my rent was $550), people who pay that much for rent expect maintainence to respond to their every whim withing the hour are being a little silly. And rent goes up at every apartment complex, every year, everywhere in the universe.
