Hi there! I have lived at Sailboat Bay for...well my third lease is about to be up in the next month, and I have to say that I have really enjoyed staying here. Since I moved in, they repaved the parking lot and painted the buildings, and they always keep the grounds up beautifully. Maintenance has always been very responsive and done a good job. It's peaceful, quiet, and in the summer you'll see fireflies at night, bunnies in the "yard", and lots of quacking and honking emanating from the lake.
Noise level, well I occasionally can hear the neighbor's playstaion or sterio, but the maintenace staff has been nice enough to quiet the noise at request when it is really necessary.
Bugs: Yes, I will say there are alot of spiders, but if you ask the office to come out a spray every month, the spider problem is almost decimated. I haven't seen any roaches. The screen door to the balcony of my apartment is a little bent, so little critters might crawl in in the summer time when I have it open. But besides that, no big bug problems.
I believe what you pay is worth what you get. I have a decent apartment, though I would like new carpet and flooring, but it is not an unpleasant place to be. I have seen the damage referred to in the other apartments (water, mold)which I don't have by the way, but I think you'd have to pick and choose before you lease to make sure you are getting what you want to pay for.
The office staff is friendly, and you can get them to steam your carpet if you negotiate with them when you renew your lease. They've always been very helpful. I usually get a real person when I call the office almost every time.
Overall, I recommend this place. Oh yeah but the gym is a joke!!! I really really wish they would work on that. But overall, I am not ashamed to call this place my home!
