The staff is rude and irresponsible. The apartments are old and gross. The one that they show you will probably be much nicer than the one you will get. They have bug problems from roaches to flees. The plumbing is old and clogged and your toilet will overflow more than once into your bedroom. This was a horrible living experience and I can't believe the money I paid to live in such a dump.

This is amazing to read, considering Im not buying it for one moment. Havent you heard, (like all the tenants have) that they are remodeling the places? Just because yours may not have been done yet doesnt mean it wont be. You chose to live here, if you have roaches then spray...Raid makes a great one and it works. Unless youre a filthy person!

Wow, love these anonymous "everything is horrible". Yes, they are re-modeling some of the units under the new ownership. I expect the rent will go up for the remodeled ones. For me, my non-remodeled ones with cheap formica and a regular refrigerator and stove is just fine for the quite affordable rent I pay.
It's the south, there's bugs, they do have regular and on-call exterminators, and yes, keep a can of raid around. Spiders are more common, BTW.
I will agree that the toilets they use, at least in the non-remodeled units, are the cheapest available and have a rather restricted output. You do have to be careful with how much TP you use - they really need to put better toilets into the property. Hopefully the remodeled units will have this.
Staff is rude and unresponsive? 100% the opposite of my experience over the past year - they're friendly and responsive in my experience.

my experience has been much more positive. i can afford my rent, live right by the lake, and if there is a problem the management responds immediately. the only thing i'm bummed about right now is that i have to decide to renew my lease more than two months before it ends, or pay over $100 more/month on a month to month basis if i don't commit. nonetheless i will commit to staying there another year because as i said, i can afford it.

Your post is so right-on target. These apartments are definitely crap. It doesn't matter if you clean every day, there are still going to be roaches, ants, and spiders. And I have lived in several apartments in Raleigh/the south, that haven't had these issues. Some places just have more of an insect problem, and this apartment has been one of them. In response to the remodeling of the apartments, what does that have to do with anything that has happened in the last year before the re-model? It doesn't change the fact that they were "old and gross" before the remodel began, which is obviously the time frame the user lived here. Clearly there are issues with this place, otherwise people wouldn't be posting negative responses. More often than not, people here don't get what they are promised in their initial move-in agreement...at least in the past few years and from the many people I know who live here. I cannot account for what is promised with these new remodeled apartments and what is to come, b/c no one has really lived in them yet. That being said, the original management team that many of us dealt with this past year is not even here anymore, therefore anyone new coming in has no idea what kind of rudeness was encountered.
