Typical apartment problems in a unique setting

I loved living in Shellbrook Apts. I did encounter several problems, but they certainly were not outstanding from any other apartment I have lived in. The apartment I had was huge for the price I paid, with a gigantic patio overlooking woods and pond. Utility costs were low, and included cable!! Shellbrook's setting is what really sets it apart. While other people complain about the complex's age, I find it to be an amenity as shrubs and trees are full and large, and make you feel like you are truly living in the woods, not in the suburbia of Raleigh. This complex is perfect for people with dogs. Walking trails are nearby, as are conveniences such as a movie theater and shopping center. The location was great, also, as you can drive to most parts of Raleigh avoiding traffic. I did have my car broken into as did several others in the complex, but the management quickly assembled a "neighborhood watch" type safety net, and several community meetings about safety. Management also screwed up my payments and overcharged me upon move-out, but these problems were resolved with a little patience and persistence. I think the worst part of Shellbrook is the sauna that always smells like pee...they need to keep kids out of these areas.
