We rented from out of state, based on the good reviews Six Forks had. However, we were very disappointed with the apartment. It was very musty and moldy, and quite junky with hideous wallpaper. Mold grew all over the windows, with lots of rotting spots in the ceiling and windowsills. The bathrooms smelled terrible. Maintenance is pretty quick to come the first time you call about a problem, but if the problem is not solved easily and cheaply, they ignore you. The dishwasher was broken and junky, no microwave provided. There is dog poop everywhere - forget being able to play with your kids in the grass areas unless you don't mind dog poop all over your shoes - even the sidewalks often had dog poop. The playgrounds they advertise are nothing - unless your child is about one year old. Also there is a lot of very slow growing construction going on with workers there every day - made you feel unsafe. And the noise from neighboring apartments is terrible - if you live on the lower level, you can hear everything from upstairs - people walking, flushing the toilet - the plumbing noises are very very loud. Once we started looking at other apartments in the area - it seems surprising that anyone would rent at Six Forks - because you can get a lot better apartment for the same or less money. I wish someone had written this review before we rented there. On the plus side, the neighborhood is quiet, people are very nice. The apartments are very conveniently located. Maybe if they made the apartmetns cheaper they would be worth it, but you really can get some nice apartments, even rent whole houses or townhouses, for less or equal money.

We felt the same when we looked here - a worn out piece of junk.
