My husband and I have been living here (with our 2 dogs) since Oct. We absolutely love it. The grounds are well lit, and maintenence is done every week. (Although I am not a huge fan of the hour that they do it...) The community is extremely pet friendly, and other pet owners are all very nice! Its a great way to get to know people. Our neighbors upstairs are awesome (Although 1 of them walks way too loud!!) Our dogs tend to bark..often, and according to our neighbor, they dont hear a thing. They have a newborn, and we never hear her...so in my opinion the walls are great!! Yes..there are bugs...and they are gross...but guess what...this is the south...that happens!! We had ONE problem...our heater was making a funny noise...we called the office and someone was here within 15 minutes! It DID take about 4 months to get our porch screen in...but they did a good job once they finally got here!! Overall I think Six Forks has been doing a great job, and I hope they keep it up under the new management change we just had!! Our lease is almost up, and we definately plan on staying!

This attitude amongst dog owners (2 dogs!!) ignores those of us who don't enjoy being subjected to barking dogs at all hours of the day and night, or be growled at by dogs as we pass them in the road, by irresponsible owners, that also leave them on the porch (not permitted) and that the management are totally inept at doing anything about these problems. I am glad you like living here, but perhaps you should spare a thought for whose environment is negatively-affected by dogs (who shouldn't live in apartments anyway, especially if no-one is home during the day as this is cruel & insensitive). This so-called "community" may have a pet friendly policy, but they don't have a tenant friendly dog policy. There are many apartments that have laid idle for months and it isn't a mystery why tenants aren't running to this place. I only hope the new management company is more effective than the last lamentable lot and who stamp down on inconsiderate people with dogs. The perhaps they will improve the appeal of SFS.

While I sympathize with your concerns about irresponsible pet owners, I can't help wondering why you live in a pet friendly complex. There are many more apartments that do not allow pets than are are those that allow them.
