Summermill is a great place to live, but like with all apartment living, there are issues you just have to deal with. My initial experience left me worried, because I was called two days prior to my move-in date by management and told that my apartment wasn't ready and I couldn't move in on time(even though I had people coming in from out of town to move me over a weekend). This was unacceptable, and they fixed it, although I did move into an apartment that was not as thoroughly cleaned and reconditioned as it should have been because of the short turn-over time between the last tenant moving out (they allowed the previous tenant to stay past her move-out date, and then expected me to rearrange my move-in date because of it) and my moving in. Other than that, I have never had a problem of any kind. This complex is located in one of the best and safest communities in Raleigh (and one of the highest socio-economic areas in Raleigh). I feel completely safe. Conditions must have changed when new management took over, because it is clean, well-maintained, very little noise, and the landfill is not that noticeable. While there are some staff members that are definitely better than others, none of them are awful to work with. Parking is a hassel, but the spaces are actually pretty large for an apartment complex. My neighbors are very pleasant and friendly. You can expect a hello or something when you pass. The fitness facility is awesome, and the pool area is nice, though the pool is a little small. I would definitely recommend living here and I intend to stay until I purchase a house.
