I've lived at Summermill for about 1.5 years and only moving because we are relocating for grad school. I will give you all the positive and negative experiences I've had.
I lived in a two bedroom, two bath apartment. Everything is in very clean, very new condition. Because they are 4 floor apartment buildings each building has an elevator which makes moving MUCH easier. The entire staff is very friendly, knows me by name, makes me feel welcome. Maintenance is VERY quick to respond, by far the best Ive experienced after living in apartments for 5 years. Closets are a little on the small side, however some two bedroom apts have a storage closet in your apt by the front door, which we had, that easily makes up for it.
The landfill is not far away and is being covered. However after living there for a year and a half, I can only remember a trashy smell MAYBE 4 days through that entire time. Traffic is never a problem. For the morning commute it only takes about 5-10 minutes to get to I-540. Parking on the other hand can be a bit congested. I've never had a problem finding a parking spot, but you wont always get a spot directly in front of your building.
Apartment noise, very little. Obviously if someone upstairs is vaccuuming or stomping around you're going to hear it, but outside of that there's definitely nothing worth complaining about. The gym is very new, very clean. Outside of that I've never used the other amenities but everything appears to be kept in great shape.
Only maintenance issues I've had, the A/C drain had an issue and we heard water dripping in the A/C vent. Called maintenance that morning and by the time I got home from work it was fixed and new filter was put in. One problem in 1.5 years, I'd say thats pretty good.
Im giving parking a 3 star rating just because parking can be crowded at times, however as far as safety and everything goes it's a VERY safe place to live.
