after living in University commons, parkwood village, & collegeview apts w/ my girlfriend at the time, this was my first apartment on my own. It was cheap ($475) for 2 bedrooms. Wasn't much to look at but i gave it a chance. They offered 6 month lease option which was nice.
These apartments are fairly old but they did an ok job cleaning them up on the inside and making em look decent. They just look ugly on the outside.
There used to be college students around when i first moved in but they slowly dissapeared or graduated and were replaced by ..... ugh... ------ that dont speak english, mexican families, the occasional reclusive asian couple, and other shady characters. I can honestly say i was the only one in my entire unit that had a college degree. crappy cars polluted the parking lot......some without a window or bumper.
The first level had a bug problem, particularly if you lived near a tree. Weird looking crickets would pay you frequent visits but that was okay...i fed them to my scorpion.
The place was fairly quiet. The maintanence was very prompt to repair problems even though the problem would surface later on.
The pool and laundry room were pretty well taken care of. The staff has always been courteous and very pleasant.
I'd reccommend this place to college students lookin for a cheap place close to NC State....not for a young proffesional tryin to score cheap college housing

Personally, I wouldn't want to do my laundry in the middle of the night here. However, calling "------ that dont speak english, mexican families, the occasional reclusive asian couple" shady characters.. that's bigoted. Just so everyone knows, the mexican, black & asian neighbors I've met are very nice. As a fellow college-educated person, I'm ashamed of this person's comment. Oh, and if you don't like minorities, don't live in Raleigh.

As you know America asked...GIVE ME YOUR TIED,YOUR POOR, YOUR HUNGRY MASSIVE yearning TO BE(breath) FREE...I am Native American and Black...take a moment and just think where this country would be without the sweat and hard labor of these two cultures? We don't want much, just our place (and respect)in the American history that makes this country the wonderful place it is. OH, by the way, I am in grad school and have met WHITES that don't speak english also, fleeting_muse... what do you think of them? Is it okay that they don't speak english as long as they look white? and can pass? oh and by the way, I live in Cary in a very upscale section, right next door to me and across from my other sububan neighbors(white) live a single white woman(renter) who had two teenage sons, if the police was not called because she was fighting with her boyfriend, they were called because the teens thought they were living in the hood...loud parties amd red neck cars. Our neighbors got together after about a year and petition for their lease to not be renewed. The board consisted of Whites, ------(that spoke english),------- from India, bi-racial families and then me(Native American & black, married to a White man)such a very diverse neighborhood and IT IS ONE OF THE BEST COMMUNITIES IN CARY! Maybe you should move into a community such as this one? You may learn to appreciate diversity! |
