PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE...
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 8/4/2006
Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2006
I've lived here for 3 1/2 years. At first, I was pleased with the apartment. The place has been going downhill ever since. Bad problem with roaches on the grounds and inside of the apartments. They will not debug the grounds. Exterminators come in and do a half a$$ed job with spraying. If its humid, roaches are scrambling around all over the walkways, in front of your doors, and in the parking lots. The apartments are not energy efficient. During the winter, my energy bill was always above $120 (mind you that my thermostat stayed at 65 degrees, not too much use of lights, not too much use of the stove since I worked alot of hours). During the summer, my thermostat stays set at 68 degrees. When someone behind me (i live in a loft) uses their washer/dryer, the temperature within my apartment rises to 80 degrees in which have my air constantly running. When someone is cooking something in the apartment behind you, you can smell everything that they are cooking. It leaves a disgusting smell in your apartment and that is not good if you are already prone to migraines. The maintenance staff is very shady. It may take them 3 days to complete a work order. In addition, the work orders are usually not complete but when you call the leasing office to report it, I've been told that the maintenance staff told them the the work order was complete (liars). They also leave your apartment dirty after supposedly doing work and will not leave a copy of the work order (to let you know that they came into your apartment). Bad mildew and mold problems in and around the vents. The spackle from the ceiling falls down on you while you are taking a shower. They may patch it up but it falls down again. The apartment community is mostly members of the Hispanic community. I don't care about anyone's race or creed but I am really having problems with the --------- in my apartment complex parking behind my car and having a gathering with beer bottles sitting on top of my vehicle. Also, with half of them drinking and driving, they will park too close to cars and leave marks and scratches on the opposing car. Going back to the maintenance staff...something happened with one of the men (maybe terminated), he took the keys to the apartments. So, at that point, there were no master keys available. I had to go to the leasing office to have them make a copy of my own key which is ridiculous. There is a lot of flooding as well on the grounds. If it rains hard, you will be splashing in puddles walking out your door and to your car. The outside lamp postings are barely lit. Half of them don't come on at all in which poses a safety issue. I would not recommend living here at all. The apartments are cheap but I suggest for you to continue looking. I will be happy to move out of here by the end of the year (unless i can breach my contract before that time).
