Don't Even Think About Moving Here

Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008
I've lived here for a little over 2 years now. Recently there has been a change in office staff. Neither this staff nor the old staff is especially expedient on getting things accomplished around the complex. Half of the people living in my building do not speak English. Many of the residents here are refugee families from third world countries. Some of them may be friendly, but they're inconsiderate neighbors. They're filthy and are the main contributors to the roach infestation. Last year I had an outrageous roach problem that I ended up having to fix myself. I would call the complex every single week complaining of insects, but all they would do was send someone in to spray. It just wasn't good enough, so I bought some bait and that seemed to take care of the problem in my own apartment.
They hired one of my neighbors, who does not speak English, to clean the grounds. However, his family trashes the place and I had to call several times to get someone over to clean up the mess. Trash would be in the parking lot and all around the yard for weeks. I told the staff that because they did not keep up the grounds, that they were breaking their end of the lease and I would be demanding rent compensation. Their solution was to hire someone else to clean the grounds, while they still employ my neighbor to clean. It doesn't make any sense. Especially when I've witnessed some of their children urinating in front of the building--not just boys, but 10 year old girls. It's disgusting.
The buildings are falling apart and the maintenance staff is useless. A few of them aren't even intelligent enough to open my door. It has two locks that uses the same key, but somehow they can't figure it out. The ceiling in my bathroom leaks, my dishwasher is difficult to close, the paint in my bathtub has all but chipped off, and the drywall is coming off in places from water damage. The walls are unbearably thin, and because the neighbors that surround me don't speak English, I can't explain to them that they need to turn their music down. When I call the staff, they don't seem to do much.
I hate it here. I would have moved when my lease was up this year, but all the apartments in this area are for the same price but half the space. Perhaps half the space would be worth the compromise. This will be my last year here, if I even decide to stay for the entirety of my lease.
