I lived here for only a year and couldn??t wait to get out. We were told that we could move in early since our lease at our previous apartment ended before the lease at U. Suites began. However, they fired the assistant manager that made the promise so I was stuck staying at a hotel for two weeks before our new lease started.
There were 6 of the 12 months I lived there that the office said I had not paid my rent. (I either paid my rent early or on the first--when it was due). I had to take copies of the CASHED check to the office and prove to them that they had, in fact, received the check. Even after I showed them that I had paid on time and that they had cashed the check, they still charged me late fees. I had to AGAIN, take a copy of the check showing when it was cashed to the office to get them to remove the late fee. I wrote several letters to the corporate office and included the copies of the check to them as well. They finally got enough common sense to allow us to pay online (which I did for the remainder of my stay).
There was never enough parking. I had to park in a visitor spot if I knew a friend was coming over and then move my car when they got there to ensure that they were able to get a spot. Our parking stickers were worth crap b/c they never towed and there were CONSTANTLY people parking in front of our townhouse. The guys next door to us would throw beer bottles into the street. I complained several times to the office and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. (Ever hear of a broom and dust pan') It is not my responsibility to clean up after drunken frat boys that throw parties, smash bottles and pee/throw up in our bushes. It is, however, the management??s responsibility to their tenants to keep the property, townhouses, etc. clean and in working order.
