If You Love Crappy Parking And All-Night Parties

then this is the place for you. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that I rented through a private owner, as opposed to the leasing company, and he allowed me to leave as soon as I wanted.

The first six months were okay, as the neighbors were somewhat considerate. However, the conditions very quickly went downhill when from there when the downstairs neighbors moved in and threw excessively LOUD parties (some of which lasted until 6am), seven days a week. The police were called on numerous occasions, but nothing ever changed. When we brought up the problem to the leasing company they were less than interested.

The parking is a nightmare in that I have driven through the parking lot several times and could not find one single space. Forget about parking on the road, as that is very limited as well. Despite parking permits, the towing policy is not enforced strongly enough. On top of that, if you do manage to park your car, be careful where you drive, as there is plenty of shattered glass scattered about from beer bottles being thrown around.

The leasing company is extremely ---- about the fire extinguishers. There was an actual fire in the apartment above us, so naturally the tenant used the extinguisher to put it out. Shortly after, everyone in the building received a threatening letter from the company reminding us that malicious use of the extinguisher was dangerous, and that the price of replacing it was to be divided among everyone in the building...$500! Oh, and they made a point that lives could have been lost in misusing the fire extinguisher, but boy, they sure took their sweet time in replacing this safety necessity...on the degree of months!

The "landscaping" is nothing short of disgusting. There are giant mud patches throughout the lawn and the trees were just kind of planted there and left alone.

The quality of the apartment itself is fair. As with most student housing, the walls are paper-thin, so you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on around you. The tubs are made out of plastic and creak whenever you step, and the standard shower heads are crappy. The racks in the bathrooms have started to come out of the walls. Unlike similar models in other complexes, these buildings have "sun rooms" as opposed to balconies (I would have preferred the balcony).

However, I will say that the appliances are decent. We had one incident with our oven, which was promptly repaired (by OUR landlord, of course). But other than that I have no complaints as far as that goes.

In conclusion, if you are the type who loves hearing your drunk neighbors sing and dance all night, are the type who enjoys partaking in these activities, like being charged rediculous fees when you are not in the wrong, and/or don't own a car, then this could be the place for you. If, however, you are the serious student and are at least somewhat normal to some degree, then stay away! STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!
