Do NOT sign a lease with VG Apartments. It's easy to fall in love with the model apartment and the friendly community "ambassadors" (students/residents who are employed by VG) but don't fall into the trap. The "gated" community has a gate that does not function correctly, usually it does not work at all. The dumpsters are not properly maintained and cardboard/trash overflows. The management is unreliable and treats student residents like they are ignorant and insignificant (although they are ALWAYS pleasant to parents)! Management does not follow up with requests and are slow to respond to residents. The shuttle VG offers to transport students to NCSU is also unreliable. They schedule is subject to change at any notice! (Even after you've register for classes using the schedule...) There were 3 bus schedules from Jan-Feb of 2009; management cut several hours out of the schedule, servicing fewer stops and cutting length off the end of the day. For example the shuttle previously ended at 6:30 pm and now it ends at 5:00 pm. The tanning they advertise as "free" is not free; you have to pay a one time fee. The club house is also not "new" as they advertise; several rooms have been redecorated and a wall has been removed but the clubhouse is not "new." The clubhouse office hours have changed several times...I understand this is partly due to the seasonal interest in signing leases but it's inconvenient. The system for filing work request changed, and as far as I know, residents were not notified. Also, don't plan on taking summer courses because the lease ends before summer school leaving you to find housing for those last few days of exams! And since you cannot move in to another apartment until around mid-august, you're just out of luck. And please don't think you can live there and actually invite over visitors. There are probably 2 visitors' spots per building; obviously not enough for a couple hundred college students....
I've only been disappointed.

If I had to guess, I would say this review is written by an employee. Enough said.

First off, I'd like to point out that Village Green changed the bus schedules after collecting surveys from the populus of their apartment asking about availability. It is unfair to judge them by how some of their residents feel. Also, the gate only does not function properly when someone runs into it or breaks it. The staff is very accomodating and it is easy to fall into this "trap" or love the model apartment because Village Green is a great place to live. Lastly, towing is enforced from about 10pm to 7am and only scarcely. This complex is not a terrible place to live, don't let one bad apple (this review) deter you from checking Village Green out. The clubhouse might not be "new" but it is completely refurbished and the pool the recently remodeled is open and looks gorgeous!

I also live at Village Green and TOTALLY agree with the person who wrote this review. I am a junior at State and WILL NOT be living here next year.

Village Green Apt has to be one of the worse places to live. They tow anyone without a parking pass, even if its a parent of a resident. Trying to get anything fixed is a joke. They have hardly any parking spots for visitors, and the few they do have are usually filled by residents who don't want to park on the other side of the complex from their apt. Talking with their staff is a joke They need to be reminded that they lease to college students, not 3 year olds. I was spoken to like I was an irresponsible child by someone who didn't look older then 21. DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! You will be counting down the days until your lease is up.
