Best apartment I've ever had

I can't say enough about how much I love my apartment, and how much I'll miss it when I move in the next few months. (I'm moving to Rocky Mount for a job opportunity.) The staff is very friendly and generous: we were very impressed when we first visited, and are even more so now. They women in the office know the residents by name, and seem 100% committed to us. So many places forget about you once you've signed a lease, but not here. They're fantastic.
I've had only 2 (minor) maintenance problems here, and they were both resolved within 6 hours of my phone call to the office.
The fitness center is great. The laundry facility is always clean and well-maintaned. The landscaping is impeccible, and located across the road from a horse farm and spectacular mansion-homes. You couldn't imagine a better landscape. The pool is unbelievable.
It's a safe community. I've lived in some shady areas of Durham, but this community seems so safe compared to other areas of the triangle.
The only caveat is its distance form Raleigh. If you work in Raleigh, and plan on commuting in, be prepared for a long-ish drive. Falls of Neuse is under tremendous road work, and it always takes forever to get to I-40 or 540. Capital boulevard is better, but always has a lot of traffic. There's not much in Wake Forest, but it's growing slowly. The strip malls in the Wakefield area are a little bothersome.
My apartment itself is gorgeous: 9 ft ceilings, fireplace, very spacious, lots of windows. The walls are painted a warm butter-cream, with white crown-moulding. We have a gorgeous view of woods and a local golf course.
Our heating and cooling bills were very modest, about $85 during the winter, and around $60 in the summer. It doesn't take much to cool my apartment. My Sprint bills are expensive, but that's Sprint for you. Rent for a one-bedroom, one-bath (with den) on the first floor is $780/month. For what we're getting, we're pleased with the rent. (For a similar place in Durham or central Raleigh, you'd pay $1000+ easily.) We paid nothing in deposit because I'm with a local University, and through various deals, we got about $1200 off our first two months of rent.
I would heartily recommend this apartment to anyone. I'm going to miss it more than I can describe.
