Well.... It's been a decent experience

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2009
I have lived here for about 6yrs, so that says something about the place. I mean before this I lived in an apartment(formely "The Hollows", now "Casa del Sol") that had roaches, mice in my friends apartment, office staff were ridiculous, and my apartment was broken into. I promptly moved within 5mths. of living there.
The 1st apt. at this new place was from 2003-2005, a 1 bd/1bth- "Pine, 700 sq.ft." looked exactly like the pics 4,5(except toilet was on other side and there was no wall, and pic9 on Aptguide.com (now called Mission Millbrook). At the time I first moved in the rent was like $485, and the apt. was up the hill by the leasing office. I felt safe, no problems w/neighborhood/neighbors or staff.
Then I moved to a 2bd/2bth-"The Redwood,1025 sq.ft" in 2005 looks exactly like pics 5-11 on Aptguide.com(now called Mission Millbrook) and I am on my way out. And yes there have been issues, more as of late, but I have lived here for quite some time, and staff has changed. You can't expect it to be perfect. Yes, there have been notices like the others have mentioned but that has been recently and you can't exactly blame the apt. complex for them. Just as you don't know everything about where you move into, I'm sure they're not purposely moving in vandals and criminals. If nothing else they do have to make a profit and they won't if there's no one here. I've seen worse neighborhoods.
I get along w/ my neighbors. I love the location being that there's 3 shopping plazas nearby within walking distance and with just about everything you could need/want. And if not, you can go up the street to the Food Lion or Target shopping area or go down by Crabtree. Brier Creek is 15 min. one direction and Downtown/Nightlife is 15min., the other direction.
As far as bugs, the only ones I've ever gotten in both apartments were waterbugs, spiders and centipedes, which I expect b/c of the woods, and we are in the South. The exterminator comes out and sprays and is respectful of my pets. I'm from up North, and I've never seen a waterbug before coming to North Carolina.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating moving in but I'm not exactly saying, don't come. I guess I've been lucky in my experience here and I am very greatful.
The problems I've had and have seen others posted is definitely a learning experience for my next place.
I hope this has been helpful but word for the wise- Always visit your prospective apt. @ night to truly scope out the neigborhood/neighbors and parking availability. All apartments look nice during the day while everyone is @ work and they're showing you the "Model". Don't be afraid to ask the neighbors what they think and be prepared by doing your research!! (Apt guides, online searches and word of mouth)
