2 year resident would not reccomend

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008

As a 2 year resident at Tiffany Square Apartments, my experience has gradually gotten worse, now to the point of unbearable. I was initially pleased with a great location and great management. My how the latter has changed. In two years, I have had 14 plumbing leaks and 1 foundation leak. The apartment would actually flood when it rained due to a crack in the foundation. In two months time, maintenance has been out 11 times to fix three different plumbing issues. One that began Saturday night & after maintenance has made two trips to fix the problem (in the apartment above me)is still leaking at 8:00 on Monday night. My family and I have been displaced 3 times to shower before work b/c our water was off due to plumbing issues and have had to stop cooking dinner 3 times b/c of busted pipes in the past 2 months. This is not isolated to our apartment, pipe bursts have been an all too uncommon theme in all of the older buildings. Maintenance has said "they wish all of the plumbing in these buildings were redone." The property manager commented on the unusual number of leaks on our end of the complex. Most recently the weekend maintenance man answered our emergency page on sunday morning at 11:30, 1.5 hours after our page at 10:00 b/c he was "sleeping in after spending all night repairing a leak in another apartment" and finally deemed it necessary to show up at 12:15. The new management is uncooperative and never has any answers. The resident manager can never get in touch with her out of town boss and he has refused to return any calls to me when I've tried to deal directly with him. I am closing on a house soon and depite the recent issues, I'm being held to the final two months of the lease. They did offer to allow me to relocate within the complex citing the continuous plumbing issues. Basically, the old section is beginning to show it's age and the maintenance staff and resident manager are not experienced enough to handle such issues (all appear to be under the age of 25). I'm a 29 year old high school teacher not a grumpy old man but the lack of experience is evident given the quality of the workmanship and the number of return visits on repairs. I will also second the concerns of a previous post about unsupervised children in the complex. Teens and very young children (4 ) constantly roam the property and the pool without any adult supervision.
