Don't lease-Snakes found in apartment!!

Overall, my family enjoyed our experience at Caveness Farms; however, in November, 2001, I discoved a snake in the master bedroom closet. Two months after being informed by the maintenance staff that the issue had been resolved, my six-year-old son finds a snake in his closet. Due to this, we moved out. Even though we gave a thirty-day notice, the managing company for Caveness Farms (Drucker and Falk) is still demanding approx. $1,700 for penalties of breaking the lease. My family lived there for three years and had never been late making a rent payment. I am now having to seek legal options. I can not believe how unfair the community has treated my family, considering the circumstances involved. I still live in Wake Forest and know there are many great apartment communities in the area.
The office staff on-site are extremely nice and professional. They seemed to understand why my family moved out. However, the management company, Drucker and Falk, has been completely unreasonable.
