Years at this apartment: 2005-01-01 - 2007-01-01

I lived in a 3 bedroom at Cape Harbor for about 2 years. They were pretty spacious, and the rent was cheap. However, it wasn't a newly renovated apartment. Also, it was nearly impossible to get maintenance to fix anything. Especially, after the hurricanes. The parking lot floods anytime there's heavy rains. Maintenance also came in unannounced and replaced the floors in the bathrooms without any notice. When we walked in all of our bathroom stuff was in the living area, and we thought someone had broken into our apartment. Not only that, but they did a crappy job putting in the flooring and used our cleaning supplies instead of their own. I have caulking in my vacuum cleaner where the idiots tried to vacuum it up. (It's illegal for them to go in without notice, anyway.) The last 3 months were an absolute living hell. These jerks moved in above us in a rock band with a baby that stayed up all night and screamed. To make matters worse, they were obese and every step they took sounded like they were falling through the ceiling. Before that, we had never had any problems with noise. The jerks also always parked in the handicapped spot without a marker, even though there was a handicapped person in our building. Management refused to address the issues. To make matters worse, it took us six months to get our security deposit back. Yes, they are legally bound to return it within 30 days. No, it wasn't worth suing. Although, apparently they don't hesitate to sue. The first check was made out to someone who had never lived in the apartment and "previous leaseholder." Needless to say, I couldn't cash the check. When I kept calling to try and get the money, one of the girls in the office totally bitched me out. What happened to apologizing when you are WRONG? I will never ever rent from United Dominion again, because of the staff. Everything else, I could have tolerated, but that was over the top. It's not worth it.

Just one horror story after another. I got out after 1 year because of the B/S like you mentioned. I hope its a wake call for future renters.

I wish I had viewed this website before I rented from these -------s. Terrible place to live and a nitemare to get out of. No one that I know that lives there enjoys it. Worst in Wilmington.
